Thanks Nick for all the info and examples you provided! I
should be getting
a Vista machine at the house soon(unfortunately it won't be
mine), so I'll
be able to test against it.
As for the casual game portals, I imagine that if you have a
solution that
works consistently, they'll work with you. I just wanted to
pass that info
onto this list for those who might be working with casual
game portals, to
be prepared.

Well according to Macrodobe the Vista "bug" will
be fixed in Shockwave
within a month or two. Obviously things will still be bad on
the Mac until
the next Director update, but with the Safari SW3D window
bug (that was only
recently fixed) and other quirks, SW3D hasn't been
completely smooth on the
Mac for some time now anyway.
I'll probably do the workaround you guys suggested for my
current
downloadable games that are already released. But for a new
downloadable
release, I really want native support on the latest OS
versions. If you're
dealing with online or retail distributors, you have to go
through a more
rigorous QA process than you do with a typical web game. So
for me, I
decided to just wait until the next release of Director
before doing new
Projector 3D offline content. I'm also keeping my eyes and
ears open to
other 3D game tools.
