I think part of the problem is simply the terrible
documentation on this
rather random property
It actually goes a bit deeper it would appear, than your
explanation (I'm
going on what's been posted on dir3D) but quite frankly
it's all a stupid
mess to me and the main thing is that yes, this particular
property solves
my problem, so hurrah!
I should definately stick to non-lighting #emissive-based
shaders in future
