Howdy -
Two of us here at NMSU Media Productions created a little
impromptu Shockwave3D game for our office "Happy
Holidays" party, and I thought I'd share it with
everyone.
The premise is that Santa has crash-landed in the arctic
somewhere and is being attacked by Snow Monsters. He's
holed up in a snow fort he quickly built, waiting for
Rudolph to come back with help.
At the office party, the game was played using a DDR-like
dance mat using the Enhancer Xtra, which was a blast. This
morning, I converted it so that it uses standard arrow keys
for a web version everyone else could play. (It's a LOT
easier to play with the keyboard.)
The gameplay's not very deep, as it only represents about
a (very full!) day of development, but it's pretty fun and
went over well at the party. It hasn't been rigorously
tested (since it's basically a one-off), so it might have
some lingering bugs. In fact, it hasn't even been run on a
PC yet. But it seems pretty stable from the Mac side, so
here it is for what it's worth:

On a side note, this is the visual style and environment
design approach that we're thinking about using for an
educational game with a pirates theme that is currently in
development. It's been in the planning stage for nearly a
year, and we're on the cusp of beginning production, so this
was a proof-of-concept for workflow and feasibility, and I
think it passed. However, I'd appreciate hearing whether
you like or hate the visual style, if you have any troubles
running it, etc. so that we can take that into consideration
as we plan the final production.
