Astra 2100U color problems

Hello!

Do I have any chance to use Astra 2100U with sane?

I've read in the remarks to the driver configuration:
"expect
problems with color."  But these problems make it
impossible to use
Astra 2100U under unix.  

Could somebody help me?  What should I do?  May be the best
destination for this device is /dev/trash, am I right?
