ADF functionality: Choosing out of 3 Products

Hello sane-devel;

There are three models we are currently interested in:

1. Epson 4490 + Optional ADF ~ 500Euros

2. HP sj5590 (modified L1910A) ~ 460USD

3. Canon DR 1210C ~ 640Euros

Which one of these do you think work with sane?
I see only Epson 4490 listed on the supported devices list,
but there isn't any statement about the optional ADF
aparatus.

Any other alternatives in this price range? Note that prices
are for Turkey. They are always a bit higher than most of
the 
European countries and US :(

The Canon DR 1210C isn't in the list, so it may be
unsupported. The HP  
scanjet is labelled unsupported. Therefore both of them
won't be a good  
choice under Linux.

Fully-featured support for the epson 4490 is availale with
'iscan'. If not  
included in your distri, downloadable from
htt
p://www.avasys.jp/english/linux_e/dl_scan.html

Another good supported (by SANE directly) ADF-scanner is the
Avision 220.

I am using the Avision 220 in my practice. Scanning reliably
20 ppm (twice 
that duplex!). ADF has proven very reliable, better than the
Fukitsus we had 
in the past

This scanner is in the rice range you mentioned and is fully
supported by SANE

Yep, and other devices like the AV600 or AV610 or the
identically looking 
models branded by Xerox/Visioneer, Kodak, HP and Fujitsu
et.al.
