pink scan with HP 4370 driver

I've tried changing every setting I could find to decrease
the "pink" 
colour. A white scan is almost pink all the way
across--darker at the 
edges & lighter in the centre--is there a way to
decrease the lamp 
output or is there another setting I should attend to?

The problem happens because shading correction is not
implemented yet.
