Microtek 5950 scanner

Greetings,

     My Microtek ScanMaker 5950 scanner is listed as
unsupported.  I would like to know if anyone is working on
backend for this scanner before I start any kind of
development effort.   I have written Microtek for a
programming document on 11/9/2006.  Is there anyone else
that also owns this scanner?
