Hi, all.
I would like to notify anyone interested of a DLL available
for
ActiveState TCL that implements a small, fast, personal
database engine
called DCDB. You can find out more about DCDB at
http://w3.tvi.edu/~
dmay/dcdb.html
You can get a .zip file that includes the DLL, a PDF file
with
documentation, and a README file with specifics on the DLL.
This was
compiled with MinGW, but works fine with ActiveState. You
can get it at
http://w3.t
vi.edu/~dmay/cdbtcl-1.2-18.zip
http
://w3.tvi.edu/~dmay/cdbtcl-1.2-18.zip.md5sum
Unpack the distribution and read the README. It is
distributed under
the LGPL or the slightly more liberal Perl Atistic License,
whichever
you prefer.
DCDB has been extensively tested on Linux, Solaris and on
Windows under
Cygwin. The DLL included herein has been tested a little,
but I don't
anticipate any problems as it is a subset of the larger
distribution.
If you have questions, you can email me and I will answer
them as time
permits.
If you would like examples of using DCDB with the TCL
bindings, get the
main distribution at
http://w3.tvi
.edu/~dmay/dcdb-1.2-18.zip
unpack it into a directory, and then look at
dcdb-1.2/tests/tcl. There
are several commented scripts there that show a user how to
write
scripts that use DCDB. Please be advised that the changes
necessary to
compile DCDB with MinGW and create the DLL are not in the
current
distribution, but I will make them available as time
permits.
Enjoy.
