Ambulant's special ffmpeg won't make on NetBSD OS

I was hoping to build Ambulant player for NetBSD. This is my
system:

OS              NetBSD 2.0.2 (GENERIC)
Motherboard     Intel D875PBZ
CPU             3.2GHz Pentium 4 CPU, 800MHz FSB
RAM             4GB

The main snag to date is in trying to install the custom
ffmpeg. It misfires
like so...

baal:  ./configure
Error, no memalign() but SSE enabled, disable it or use
--enable-memalign-hack.
baal:  ./configure --enable-memalign-hack
baal:  make
make: "/home/aplonis/ffmpeg-cvs/Makefile" line
12: Missing dependency operator
make: "/home/aplonis/ffmpeg-cvs/Makefile" line
15: Need an operator

What should I try next, please?
