I'm able to play SMIL documents with media element pointing
to Ogg
(Vorbis or Theora) files with Ambulant 1.6.1 (built on Jan 2
2006 for
Windows/MFC).
I've a codec pack installed on my Windows platform (a
recent version of
K-Lite Codec Pack), which provides a fairly wide set of
DirectShow filters.
For decoding OggVorbis I think it uses ffdshow or
CoreVorbis, and it
seems that Haali Media Splitter (a DirectShow source filter
for opening
audio streams in an Ogg container) is launched when I play
my document
in Ambulant.
