Example of text elements, please!

I have the SMIL 2.0 hardcover manual but I don't
seem to locate examples of using the <text> element
so that all I've been able to do is put up some
plain black lines of text. 

What I'd like to do is scoll text across the screen,
if that is possible. Or at least overwrite the same
area time and again in keeping with the audio. 

Any examples of someting like that?
