openSuse 10.2 uses  2.6.18.2-34  (well 34 is suse
designation) but its
basically 2.6.18.2

can i hope for a clean nat-t patch compile in a 2.6.18.2
kernel?

I do not know. I don't know suse kernels, and i have not
tried 2.6.18.2
