Robert:
Help is on the way.
Although kdmconfig has been removed from the miniroot in
snv_53,
starting with SNV_55, including Solaris
Express, the sysidkbd function will now prompt the user for
keyboard
locality.
The main reason for this change is to put the Xorg server in
the
miniroot, thereby running the same default
server during installation as during runtime.
Note that /usr/sbin/kdmconfig is still available if you must
use it.

have english environment (menus, apps, etc.) but polish
keyboard so I can display/type polish characters. I used to
fiddle with xmodmap but it's not elegant. The best would be
to just select different keyboard layout (pl) and being able
to use it right a way. Unfortunatelly it doesn't work that
way and for last couple of snv builds there's even no
keyboard applat offering different keyboard layouts.
