I am pleased to announce a rather comprehensive patch to the
video plugins'
infrastructure in OpenH323 (from the
"openh323_plugins" branch), itself a
backport from Opal.
Most notable changes are:
- support for 2+ RTP packets per compressed picture
- speed optimized video capture (avoid memcpy of raw
pictures)
- reliable video capture
- fixed crash of generic video capability
- fixed matching of H.263 capabilities (same applies to
Opal!)
The whole thing was tested with Sopal, the Salyens Opal
video plugins that
include the H.263, MPEG-4 and H.264 codecs among others, and
several OpenH323
(and Opal) applications.
Many thanks to Requestec, who also sponsored the initial
(unfortunately
non-working) video plugins' infrastructure in OpenH323
contributed by another
supplier last month. Their confidence in Salyens' ability to
"save the day" is
an immense source of satisfaction today.
