Getting the file name and the path into separate variables from the absolute path

Hi
i have a bunch of paths like this one:
c:documents and settingsblahblah2picture.jpg
I need to remember this: "c:documents and
settingsblahblah2" in one
variable
and this: "picture.jpg" in the second one.

Any ideas.
