I like OpenBSD on the Zaurus, but three main reasons for the
change are:
1) No SD card write support so far;
2) Speed: Debian EABI is running very fast on the Zaurus.
Even on the OABI
system, for example, Iceweasel (firefox 2.0.0.7) can launch
in 30 seconds,
but it takes 5+ minutes on OpenBSD to load the program.
Others like Abiword and Gimp also load faster.
3) Creating a new port in Debian is more user-friendly and
straightforward
than in OpenBSD. I am not saying this is a bad thing about
OpenBSD, since it
is explicitly stated as a "developer's system".
Since I am just a common user and not so into the
philosophies of Unix
vs.Linux, I just go for the one that is more user-friendly
and speedy,
especially when it comes to small machines like the Zaurus.
(No intent to flame here. So please spare me. :-P )
cheers,
Dave
