The application does record voice in a WAV (perhaps als OGG
or MP3)
file. I use it to record maps for OpenStreetMap[1]. I use
this with a
laptop in my car to tag streets. My application does
currently only run
with Linux. I didn't yet release the source for my
application. What
application do you plan?

BTW: Do you know OpenStreetMap? We're everytime interested
in mappers
from the whole world. On the "slippy map" isn't
much to see in south
america. But I assume there's some data. Perhaps the map
tiles aren't
rendered. You could ask on the mailing list for this topic
and how to
help if you're interested.

regards
Andreas
