OOo no longer builds!

Hello,

I recently did a clean install and upgrade to 6-STABLE
and everything works fine except OpenOffice.org will
not build and its binaries will not install.

Indeed, it is because OOo tends to be tetchy on
FreeBSD that I am contemplating whether I need to
consider another platform for it.

I have however, learned much about TeX in the interim
and am liking it more and more.

What information might I need to give? I got the
following:

In file included from conditn.c:37:
system.h:542: error: conflicting types for
'gethostbyname_r'
/usr/include/netdb.h:228: error: previous declaration
of 'gethostbyname_r' was here
system.h:542: error: conflicting types for
'gethostbyname_r'
/usr/include/netdb.h:228: error: previous declaration
of 'gethostbyname_r' was here
dmake: Error code 1, while making
'../../unxfbsdi.pro/obj/conditn.obj'
'---* tg_merge.mk *---'

ERROR: Error 65280 occurred while making

/unx
dmake: Error code 1, while making
'build_instsetoo_native'
'---* *---'
***Error code 255

I recently tried to downgrade to 2.0.3 and that would
not build anymore. It might have been some
modifications I did to rtld in order to run flash, so
I may try that again. I just rebuilt world.

Any help would be appreciated. AFAIK, this port
appears pretty broken at the moment.

Charles

How can I determine the port number in the client
side? The connection method only has the server port
number.

Why would you like to know ?? I'd rather be ignorant about
this knowledge...

My problem: I have a z39.50 client implemented with
YAZ and I'd like to know what port number I will need
to open in my firewall. I observed that the number
port that the client use is random. Do you understand
my problem? I only find a way to determine the port
number I will connect in the server.

Hi Rodrigo,

Unless I'm misunderstanding your question, I believe the
port you need
to open on your firewall is the port of the server you're
connecting
with. In other words, if you wanted to connect with
z3950.loc.gov:7090,
you would need to open port 7090.

This may mean you need to open multiple ports (for outbound
TCP
connections) if you're connecting to several different
servers. Ports
210, 2200 and 7090 should take care of a lot of them,
though.

See http://www.webclarity.info/support/faq/firewallports.ht
ml for more
information. It's BookWhere, but same principle.

John
