No database name

The Z39.50 server of Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana can be
reached  
using the configuration listed in
http
://www.cenfor.net/database/report.asp?idOP=6
The database name is NULL. How can i set it to NULL in
yaz-client?
My attempts were:

Z> open 193.43.102.194:21210
Z> list_all
(...)
Bases                : Default
Z> base
Usage: base <database> <database> ...
Z> base ''
Z> list_all
(...)
Bases                : ''
z> f attr 1=4 tolkien
Sent searchRequest.

There is no NULL database, AFAIK. Database Advance is
recognized.
