Jon,
When you request Full (elementSet = F) and format (MARC21),
you
should always retrieve the full MARC record. When you
request
Brief (elementSet = B) you _may_ retrieve a briefer record
_if_
the target supports a brief communication record. (LC does
not.)
For example, the RLIN server supports Brief and Full MARC
records
(see below).
Are you looking for holdings information? Some targets
support
the OPAC record format which returns additional holdings
information (also below).
