UCS Character composition/decomposition and NFD

Does the YAZ library support any composition/decomposition
functions 
such as converting a string to Normalized Form D?

No. You'd have to do conversions like that before/after
using the YAZ 
utilities. Or send us a huge patch. A few combined
characters are dealt 
with in the conversion to/from MARC-8.

I think that's a small subset of the whole thing.. See
latin1_comb[..]
