I am trying to install a product that needs to open an
xwindow as part of
the installation. I get the message

"connection to ":0.0" refused by server. How
do I go about making sure
that the service is running and that the port is open and
listening to
start a session?

Larry

Are you installing the app as root?

How do you log into the system (ssh or are you sitting in
front of the
machine).

If your installing the app as root (after 'su -' from a
user) then as
the user try: xhost +root
So that root has access to your display.

If your sshing into the machine, have you tried: ssh -X
roothost?

Regards,
Josh.
