Thanks Samer. The installed version - zip-2.3-16.10 – is not capable of zipping files larger than 2GB. This seems to be a know issue.

as far as I know, Linux does not have this limitation of file size like Windows

So, it does not need anything extra

Is there a red hat supported zip binary for handling files larger than 2
GB? 4 GB? Platform is i686 and RH ES 3.6

Thanks in advance.
