cpan

Hi,

I have just installed ActivePerl 5.8.8, build 820, and I
have tried to use 
the cpan shell.

What is that warning about Ruby?
Why cpan tries to use a non existing command?
What can I do to avoid that "undefined subroutine"
error?
(I have previously installed the latest version of
Compress::Zlib I could 
find in a ppm repository).

In ActivePerl 5.8.8 build 819 I couldn't make Net::SFTP to
work. Do you know 
if it is it working in this last build?

Why would you use cpan to install DBI when it is available
via ppm ?

Hard to say what your problem is however, but it sounds like
it might be
issues with either you Perl installation or your
environment.

Regarding Net::SFTP, I suggest trying it yourself. If you
have problems
try posting what they are. Perhaps somebody here can help,
if you
provide sufficient information.
