Two column layout for programlisting

Hi,

Did anybody already succeed in generating parts of a Docbook
document in
a two column layout while the other part remains one column
(for
generating PDF)?

I need to layout programlisting elements in a two column
fashion while
the rest remains one column?

I would include Processing Instructions right after the
<programlisting>
element (as in Bob's books example about reducing the font
size), but I
have absolutely no clue how I would process the
<programmlisting>
element.

Can anybody give me some hints?
