I’d like to have some program examples extend the full width of the page in PDF output. I thought I could put the <programlisting> elements within an <example> or <informalexample> element, and set the pgwide attribute to 1 (which you can do with tables and figures). However, <example> and <informalexample> don’t support the pgwide attribute.

As a temporary workaround, I’m inclined to put the <programlisting> inside a <table&gt; or <figure> and set the pgwide attribute.

Has anyone else found another simpler way to create page-wide program examples?

Regards,

Jeff Powanda

The latest stylesheets support a processing instruction inside example or informalexample:

<informalexample&gt;
<?dbfo pgwide="1"?>
<programlisting>; ...
