i am using xp mce / vs 2005 -

where can i find information on creating a screensaver
written in
either VB or C++ ?  i'd like to write a screensaver that can
work even
on Windows 95 if possible.

There's a screensaver template packaged in VS2005.

Start VS2005.
Select "Create new project"
In the requester that pops up, expand the "Visual
Basic" node and
select the "Starter Kits" node.
On the right side select "Screen Saver Starter
Kit".
Give the project a name and you're good to go.
