I haven't noticed a great deal of traffic in WPF / WF / WCF
here or
did I delete those messages when the day job got into a
death march?
I am looking at WPF, and WF for starters. My current day
gig is in a
ASP.NET shop where we write tools for our employees to use.
There is talk of looking at WPF and click once delivery to
replace
ASP.NET. But talk is cheap isn't it? ;->
So I'm going to focus on WF for the next month or so.
Implementing it
on an as needed basis. If I can push some of it's
processing to
another server then it may work out fine
Anyone else into ver 3.0?

Wishing I was. Starting to explore it for some consulting work. Would love to be using it at the day job, but need to see more vetting first. We JUST moved from 1.1 to 2.0 a year ago, when I started here, and I was brought on, in part, due to my year's worth of experience already working in
2.0. We move slowly here :(
Of course until VS2008 is out, I'm not sure how much effort is worthwhile, either ...

I was hearing yesterday that VS2008 might be out sooner than
you think
(hint: 2007). Not sure how much truth was in that
though.....

Got any sources or quotes you can share? Through MSDN, MS employees, MVPs I was hearing "3rd 4th quarter 2007" for the longest time ... then what, a CTP ago, or with the first beta, they started calling it 2008 ...

Well it word of mouth that brought it to me, but a quick
google reader
search turns up this
http://www.regdeveloper.co.uk/2007/10/
17/visual_studio_2008_vista_bolster/
which may likely be the source, as it were

then work

Google Reader is like crack. Crack that I don't need to get hooked on. I add too many feeds.
I get up, have coffee, check/respond to email, walk the dog, check CNN, local news, do some consulting work, occasionally do some research for the day job, then head into the office. When I get home, sometimes after burning more time running errands, it's more dog walking, consulting work, occasional research. Need to minimize my web viewing time.

They already have the live version. I'm at a micosoft conference right now and all the microsoft presenters are using production copies of 2008. The word is it gets released in November for enterprise and MSDN subscriptions and the official launch in early 2008.
