Production Support w/ Sybase, SQL, Stored Procedures, and Unix. ;

Job Specifications:
Technical Skills:
Strong Sybase/SQL knowledge is a must. Relevant experience should be demonstrated through recent project work. ; The ideal candidate will also have an interest and experience in performing Production Support tasks with hands on experience in attending/rewriting Stored Procedures in Sybase or working with UNIX code.

Non-Technical Skills:
The ideal (not mandatory) candidate should have experience or knowledge of Treasury related systems e.g. OPICS, Summit, etc, or should possess a good Product Knowledge of Treasury related products (Time Deposits, Fixed Income products and FX).

The candidate should be familiar with the software development life cycle of projects and should demonstrate strong analytical skills.

Good communication skills are a must. The candidate must be able to understand requirements and demonstrate a drive to seek clarity by asking relevant questions. The candidate should also be able to interact positively with people and communicate effectively to understand issues and respond to the same.

Candidate should be self-motivated and be able to work independently for periods of time.

Other:
The candidate is expected to have 3-5 years experience in the Information Technology industry - preferably in Financial Services firms with involvement in Production Support or QA.

Location: NYC, NY

ORACLE DBA / Data modelers required to work on our large data warehousing implementation project!

Essential:
*Seven years Oracle DBA experience
* Five years Oracle Data warehousing DBA experience
* Two years Oracle 10g experience
* Three years ERWin
70% oracle DBA work and 30% Data Modeler work on the job

* Deep understanding of Oracle 10g data warehousing architecture and features-partitioning, materialized views, analytic functions
* Able to specify and optimize the physical data model
*Participated in a successful full implementation of a data warehousing solution
* Excellent working knowledge of Oracle 10g * SQL, PL/SQL, SQL*Loader, Hints, Optimization at SQL level
* SQL performance tuning / analysis; determination contention and other database performance related issues
* Understanding pros and cons of different database configurations as it relates to VLDB solutions including impact on ETL, reporting and maintenance processes
* Experience with partitioning tables and indexes (local and global) as it related to VLDB oracle databases
* Perform peer reviews of data model
* Experience with Oracle 10g grid architecture
* Support UAT/QA activities
*Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills

SOLID ORACLE DBA EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Strong Data Warehousing background.
-This person must have created a data mart. from the physical design point of view.

Serious DBA experience + some modeling experience.
