We have an excellent engineering opportunity in our Enterprise Systems/Unix Department in our Rancho Cordova location.

As a UNIX Engineer III in the Unix Support technology team, this individual's responsibilities include:

 

*Senior level middleware application support that includes installation, integration, maintenance, upgrades, and day to day management of the following UNIX support team applications: Oracle Application Server 10.1.x, Oracle Portal, Oracle SSO and Oracle Internet Directory, Apache Web Server; Tomcat, JBoss 4.0.x, Sun Seebeyond JCAPS and eXchange, Sun One Directory Server (LDAP), Lawson, Siteminder Policy Server and Webagents, MQ Series, Tuxedo and HP OpenView

*Support existing server farm and implementation of new business projects

*Support of application and database teams as needed

*Participation in building Business Continuity Plans (BCP) for critical systems

*On-call duties of supported products that require evening and weekend support as needed

*Provide technical vision and rapidly assimilate new technologies

*Participate in and support various audit efforts (PCI, HIPAA, NAIC, etc)

*Interface with business staff and vendors in business and technical terms

*Ability to work in a structured environment by following strict rules regarding change management and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes

*Work with other infrastructure and development teams to ensure that enterprise support, project, and development goals are met

*Ensure systems and processes are compliant with State/Federal law and corporate security policies

*Support Enterprise disaster recovery initiatives

 

Ideal candidate must be a self-starter with strong technical skills and meet the following minimum qualifications:

*BA/BS degree; Masters degree in Computer Sciences or related field, a plus

*Significant experience (6+ years) supporting enterprise sized UNIX systems in a 7x24 production environment

*Experience in a multi-platform enterprise server environment

*Knowledge of script writing in standard languages (PERL, SHELL)

*Familiarity with Unix internals including file systems, inter-process communications and device drivers

*Ideal candidate would have superior knowledge of SUN Solaris

(9 & 10), and some experience with HP-UX, AIX, and LINUX

*Strong project management skills and experience

*Strong verbal and written communication skills
