Hi!
I just changed hardware on my mailserver and now I've run
into
problems with qmail-scanner
I have a similar setup on the other box and it works fine.
Here's some info:
OS: Solaris 2.8
perl 5.8.6
qmail-scanner 1.25 (with st patch)
qmail
Basically what happens is when I call qmail-scanner-queue.pl
thru
QMAILQUEUE variable in /var/qmail/supervise/qmail-smtpd/run
it burps
this error at me:
Can't load
'/usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.6/sun4-solaris/auto/DB_File/DB_Fi
le.so' for
module DB_File: ld.so.1: qmail-scanner-queue.pl: fatal:
libgcc_s.so.1:
open failed: No such file or directory at
/usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.6/sun4-solaris/XSLoader.pm line 68.
at /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.6/sun4-solaris/DB_File.pm line
251
Compilation failed in require at /dev/fd/4 line 1302.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /dev/fd/4 line 1302.
This happens when qmail-scanner.pl is called as qmaild
(works great as
qscand or root).
All the so files are where they should and according to ldd
it looks
like they should be ok.
The enviroment variables are exactly the same (except for
homedir and
username ;) ) for qscand and qmaild.
softlimit for qmail-smtpd is set to ~50 MB
It gives me the same error when I use the c wrapper for
qmail-scanner
or if I trie sudo...
Please help, I'm getting bombarded with spam. Any help is
appreciated...
Thanks
Markus

If all the files are really there, then that has to be a
softlimit or
permissions problem. Either that or your hardisk is failing.
Up your softlimit to 75M and see if the problem disappears.

All files are there, I checked, double checked and tripple
checked...
The drive is fine, it's as new as a 9 GB SCSI drive can
be.. ;)
I tried running qmail-scanner as proposed after the
installation ie:
setuidgid qmaild /var/qmail/bin/qmail-scanner-queue.pl -g
and it still fails, which makes me think that it has nothing
to do with
the softlimit.
All is the same on both boxen except for DB_File which now
is 1.84, could
this be the culprit or can it be something with UIDs and
GIDs?
Is there anymore information that you would like to be able
to help me?
I can't give any qmail-scanner logs since when it crashes
it hasn't had
time to log anything... :(

True. Does it work if you run "qmail-scanner-queue.pl
-g" as root? If it
does - then it's a permission problem, if it still
doesn't, then you
have an incorrectly installed DB perl module.
And I can't help you fix that :-(

Ok, so permission problems it is (most likely).. Since it
works as
root and qscand but not as qmaild. Iäll have to do some more
digging..
Thanks anyway!
