Remember to use rpm -Uvh and both those URLS ON THE SAME
LINE.

Regarding the problem I mentioned with Frox and large
archive files. It has
nothing to do with ClamAV directly. What is happening is
Frox is scanning the
archive and timing out waiting for clamdscan to finish. The
timeouts are hard
coded in the Frox so there is no easy way to fix that. I
have an idea that I'll
try out tomorrow.

Update shoudl work on either the error is about a specific
post uninstall
script in the rpm. I'll have to look at the SPEC file to
figure out what it was
trying to do. My guess is start and stop clamd or run
freshclam there really
isn't much else that it should be doing.

Not sure of the impact on Endian but I picked up this note
off the MailScanner.

"If anyone is still seeing this problem, we found that
it's fixed by
force reinstalling the clamav perl module. According to the
clamav
developers:

Due to the changes in libclamav, 0.88.7 is not binary
compatible with
previous versions. To solve the issues you have to recompile
all the software
which is linked against libclamav."

So it does look like there is something funky about ClamAV
0.88.7 which couold
cause some errors. My advice is if you seem to have any
trouble after you
upgrade use "rpm -e --nodeps" to remove the 0.88.7
then run rpm -Uvh to restore
0.88.6 you'll have to copy /etc/clamav/*.conf.rpmsave back
to the
freshclam.conf clamd.conf files.

Sometime in the next 48 hours I'll try to run a virus test
on each part of the
system [smtp/pop3/http] I do know that it works fine with
Frox/ftp but that
uses clamdscan so it makes sense.

I tested virus scanning via HTTP/ FTP/ POP [p3scan]/ and
SMTP outbound it
worked in each case so I'd say that everything is ok.

[I did notice that amavis uses clamscan and p3scan uses
clamdscan so in theory
I could change p3scan to the python wrapper also, and maybe
amavis as well but
I'm no expert on amavisd-new use so...]
