Summary: 2.0 ISO won't boot
Initial Comment:
At first I thought it was because of another Grub
installation on the hard drive, but after wiping the
drive clean the problem persists.
The iso just boots to a grub> prompt with no
instructions on how to proceed. I'm trying different
commands at the prompt, but to no avail.

Hi All!
I'm just new to Endian and am looking at an alternative to
SME Server. I have downloaded the ISO and verified it, but
it simply won't boot. I'm trying to boot it into a P4
1.5Ghz box. Boots on another P4 2.4Ghz. Any idea's?
Cheers,
David Kenyon

Posted in the forum and copied here:
I would have to say there is something going on with the
EFW isolinux bootable files with this version on some
PC's. I burned the ISO to CD at work and upgraded my lab
firewall (Dell GX110) there without any problems. I
brought home the same CD to upgrade the firewall here and
it will not boot (Asus P2B PIII 350MHz). I also downloaded
the ISO again and burned two more CD's that didn't work
either. Like others I have booted the other endian FW cd's
as well IPCop previously without any problems.
In an attempt to get around the problem I pulled the known
good CD drive from the EFW at work and put it in the ASUS
P2B system and I still have the boot failure here at home.
Workaround: Boot with 1.1rc6 and replace 1.1rc6 CD with
2.0 CD once at boot prompt.

Same problem here, cannot install over the top of my rc8
machine. Have tried the 2.0 CD in my DELL notebook and it
did boot sucessfully (although I cancelled it before my hdd
was wiped), so nothing wrong with the CD.....not sure what
this could be?

Problem is confirmed, downloaded and burned twice, reburned
at different speeds, finalized and non, problem still
exists. Tried two different computers, different CD and
DVD drives, etc. All hardware problems have been
eliminated and MD5 checksum on both download check out.
Burned with Nero 7, will try another burning program and
respond.

I think the disc is just not booting for whatever reason.
I just noticed the grub> prompt came up even when the
disc
was not in the cd drive. I'm able to boot several other
distro cds, so it appears to be some thing with the iso.
I've burned 2 copies from 2 separate downloads with the
same result. Please let me know if you find a problem and
manage to correct it. Thanks...
