Summary: SMTP Quarantine Viewing and Retrieval

Initial Comment:
How do we retrieve emails in the spam quarantine. Is
this going to be integrated into the webadmin? Astaro's
SMTP Proxy had a vew quarantine page. There you could
delete the quarantine messages (Virus, or Spam) and
force delievery of the message(Only Spam Messages). If
Spamassasin classifys a message incorrectly, and it is
quarantined, my users would like to get that message.

This is a must for an enterprise or even SMB antispam
product.

i installed dovecot and created a local user...
i added a extra config in
/var/efw/smtpd/conf/postfix.main.cf to add mydestination the
FQDN (so i can also send spam and ham from our
internam
mail server) and enable the + mail separator in postfix

then in envian i put the emails
user+spamlocalmachine.domain user+viruslocalmachine.domain
and user+extensionslocalmachine.domain in their quarentine
fields

in the user home i put the .forward+spam .forward+virus and
.forward+extensions pointing to the the
$HOME/quarantine/{spam,virus,extensions}

all works fine for a local quarantine

to browse the quarentine, i use the in linux sylpheed-claws
with imap (very flexible to release, or forward) and for my
window users i installed roundcube in another system...
roundcube is good, but the lack of forward as attach and
"release" like feature (sendmail -f $from $to
< $email)
makes it a not so good quarantine interface... i'm trying
to
"fix" this, but if anyone have a better and
simple webmail
that can do this to emulate a quarantine would be great

finally i rotate the maildirs to the date of today so its
easy to check any quarantine

if envian wants i can make a patch/list of changes

this can all be done if you configure the quarantine to be
sent to a remote server instead of saving it locally.
spam-quarantine saves locally, if you specify an emailadress
the mail which should be quarantined will be sent to that
emailadress. there you can, erase it, backup it, provide it
for spamfilter learning and certainly you can forward false
positives to the appropriate user.

pay attention, to not send quarantine mail to a mailserver
which has its own spamfilter or if so bypass the filters for
that recipient address.

however, local quarantine handling probably would be a nice
feature.
