Summary: Privacy for Web Proxy
Initial Comment:
In some situations and organizations privacy is a big
deal. With some web proxies you are able to restrict
certain browser headers from being passed to the
webserver on the internet. Something like an anonymity
option in the web proxy webadmin section where you can
set a level of anonimity of web browsers. Standard
anonymity could block http request headers such as:
Accept-Encoding
From
Referrer
Server
Link
And say a setting for paranoid users which will remove
all request headers except:
Allow
Authorization
Cache-Control
Content-Encoding
Content-Length
Content-Type
Date
Expires
Host
If-Modified-Since
Last-Modified
Location
Pragma
Accept
Accept-Language
Content-Language
Mime-Version
Retry-After
Title
Connection
Proxy-Connection
User-Agent
Here User-Agent would be modified so no client version
information is transmitted. And cookies could be
disabled too. I know that HAVP 0.80 has the option to
control X_FORWARD_FOR. Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Dayne
