Problem with locale change in version 2.1

Hello!

When I was using Eventum 2.0, I could easily change the
locale by changing
the APP_GETTEXT_MODE from "native" to
"php" in /config/config.php and
changing APP_DEFAULT_LOCALE to "ru_RU" as it was
discussed in

If I use Eventum 2.1, the operations above do not allow me
to change the
language. All .mo files are at the right location.

Could you give me a hint on how to do it.

PHP Version 5.2.4
FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE-p1

what you mean by "right location" the path used in
distribution tarball?

does the problem also occour in latest svn / snapshot?

and does the language(s) appear as choice in user
preferences page?
