I'd like to echo request #2 if it's reasonable to implement.

I'm pretty sure that you could drop the attachment file
records without hosing things, but you might want the final
word from Mr. Alsdorf.

Hi,

My hosting provider allows each database on its system to
only be
250MB. Since Eventum keeps all attachments in the database
itself,
this is starting to become a problem. I have two questions
regarding
this:

1) I want to keep a copy of the text of e-mails sent, but
discard the
attachments. Is it ok to simply drop those records from the
database
in the issue_attachment_file table, or will I be screwing it
up
somewhere else?

2) As a feature request, could it be a configuration option
to keep
file attachments in a data directory on the server, instead
of
directly in the database?

Many thanks,

Andrew

Hi,

Regarding #2, I find it really convenient to have almost
everything in
the DB - administration becomes very very simple coupled
with greater
Data Integrity - no chance of File Attachments getting
deleted from the
Data Directory for "some unknown reasons".

Probably, the setting of whether to have file attachments in
the DB or
in a Data Directory itself could be made configurable.

Thanks and rgds,
Watson
