Thank you for your note, Kunal. A few additional questions.

I created said file, opened the browser, and searched the
page for "GD."
No results. I'm no PHP guru, but I assume this may have
something to do
with this:

Configure Command:
./configure' '--with-apxs'
'--with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql'

That is to say, it appears that no GD support was compiled
into this
distribution and is thus what is triggering the error. Is
that a proper
assumption?

Assuming so, I'm rebuilding PHP 5.0.5 with --with-gd.
Feedback is
valued, even if it's textual versions of a slap to the back
of my neck.

Hi

Did you try creating a test.php file with the following
code:

<?php
phpinfo();
?>

When you run this file on a browser, you will find lots of
configuration
information. The GD extension configuration info should also
be on this
page. Also, double check php.ini file location displayed on
this test
config
page.

I experienced the same problem as Andre Moshier.
Specifically, I get
the error:

"The GD extension needs to be enabled in your PHP.INI
file in order for
Eventum to work properly."

The difference between Andre and I: I'm on a Mac, running
OS 10.x.
PHP.INI?

I downloaded, compiled, and installed php 5.1.2, ensuring
that the GD
package is enabled. Still get the same error, and you know
what?
There's no PHP.INI file on this system. Find proved it.

Ideas? I'm a bit stumped.
