Stephen,
I have found the issue.
The problem is $hide_closed is not being set. In main.php,
line 67 I
have added
$tpl->assign("hide_closed", $_REQUEST['hide_closed']);
This sets the hide_closed variable for use in the
main.tpl.html.
I haven't looked at saving the setting so it is remembered
the next time
you go into the page though. That's the next thing.
