I've developed some keyboard weirdness here too that I'm trying to track down. ; Occasionally, I get dropped characters, multiple characters, or wrong characters.  It only happens sometimes, so I'm not really sure if it's a new issue.  I'm running Core 7, KDE, and it shows up so far in Firefox.

Where do you have this problems? KDE? Gnome? Or on the console? Both
 KDE 
and Gnome have their own keyboard managers which are responsible for the 
layouts. If you expect those troubles on the console, use 
system-config-keyboard to change the keyboard layout and deactivate the
