Hi all:

system-tetex is a fink placeholder for a teTeX installation.
However, I
am using MacTeX-2007 <http://www.tug.org/mac
tex/> or texlive-2007-dev
<http
://www.tug.org/mactex/morepackages.html>.

Is there a way to have a placeholder for texlive? teTeX is
no longer
supported and texlive would be up-to-date.

Cheers,
Claus

The tetex maintainer has decided that a system-texlive
package isn't
in the works; trying to make Fink deal with external
packages isn't
practical when the developers of said packages move files
around on a
regular basis.

Our ideal solution would be to have a texlive package for

A system-texlive package is 'Awaiting fink-core decision':

I cooked up a local system-tetex placeholder that I placed
in
/sw/fink/10.4/local/.

But! that's the easy part. The problem is with the kpathsea
libraries that other packages depend on, and which are *not*
part
of texlive. I compiled these by hand and put them into
/usr/local. Definitely not everybody's cup of tea.

That decision will likely be 'no', because it's a support
nightmare
(as per my post). However, people are free to try it
out--but unless
it goes in the distribution the Fink team can only provide
limited
technical support for it.
