Hey James,
This is the link to the cool dynamic mask that I was telling you
about.
I couldn't really make heads or tails of the code (which of course
isn't surprising) but I thought the abbreviations were a bit
odd, as you had mentioned they might be bitmap techniques that were
decompiled from a pre-existing swift. I dunno....
let me know what you think !

Cool effect, thanks for the link Dan.
You miss understood our conversation. I mentioned that what you
described sounded to me like a dynamically drawn mask, which was the way
this effect was created. We also talked about the possibilities of
doing a mask-like effect with the new bitmapdata class.
As for the code, I hadn't seen it but you described it yesterday as
being very unreadable because of it's weird one and two letter variable
names. It sounded to me like you were describing reverse-engineered
code output from a decompiler. However, taking a look at the code just
now I can clearly see that it was authored this way. It's pretty common
to use one letter variable names such as r for radius inside drawing
methods just like this author has done.
