Thank you very much for your help.
I've managed to load and unload my other swf movie into my
main movie 
successfully.
My sub application has loadMovie() and loadVariables()
command in it.
However, I found that the sub application that I load cannot
actually 
download anything into it (using loadVariable, loadMovie
command) IF 
the application is referenced from an external URL, e.g. 
www.geocities.com/...
But if the sub application is actually inside the same
folder (so I 
just call loadMovie(movieName) when I load it) in the phone,
then it 
works as expected.
Does anyone know how to get around this?  The idea is that I
want to 
write several small Flash application (swf movies) and put
them on 
the net somewhere.  I would then write a main application
that can 
run these smaller applications by just loading them from the
net 
using loadMovie().

Ivan,

The domains where you're loading from needs to have the
cross-domain
policy file (crossdomain.xml) installed. Here's more info:
