Input text focus problem

How can i achieve a smooth input text focus like the amortization
calculator?

Because on my current application, I have to press down twice to input
a text. Did he use input text or dynamic text? Or can someone create a
simple number entry like the amortization calculator? Im using flash
lite 1 by the way. Thank you very much and God Bless us all.

I need help? Because it will confuse the users to press "down" twice
then ok to fill up the input text. Just a command when the focus
rectangle is in a certain input text, they can enter the value when
they hit the Ok button. Please view the provided link (amortization
calculator) for a good example of what im trying to do.

Ive seen actionscript like the Selection.setFocus("input_txt"); to
focus on input_txt upon load but it only works on FL2.0, im currently
using FL1.1 so I'm having a big problem.
