It isn't. It won't throw a compile error, I don't think, but
it will fail
silently.

FP 6 has pretty good support for AS 2 and its classes. There
are some things
that don't work as you would expect in FP 6 (like casting),
but by and large
it's support is pretty good.

Yep, just what I thought. I remember coding for AS2 and
publishing for 6
when it came out. Fun stuff, my developer buddies would give
me crap cuz I
'thought' I was writing it in as2 when it was just slop I
dropped in the
file and the compiler being sympathetic of my noob-ness. I
still owe those
guys a punch in the junk ;)

Actually, for me the movie clip loader failed silently... I
had a
colleague go in and publish everything for 6. When I went
into my file,
none of the movies loaded, but she had zero compile errors.
Crazy!

I will definitely stick with Bob's script then for this
project and save
my movie clip loader script for a Flash 8 project. It really
is a bummer
when we have to publish for 6 because my graphics don't even
look right.
But, at least I am distributing an 8 version for those who
have it, so
they can see it prettied up!

Another thing that didn't work in FP 6. I copied in some
graphics to my
library from illustrator. There were some illustrator
embedded
formatting that I couldn't see that caused major compile
errors.

Also, I had to hand write my video player so that it would
work in 6.

Thanks to Lee at http://gotoandlearn.com/
who shows how to do it!

Thanks everyone for all of your advice. I don't know what I
would do
without ya!
