Hi,

Putting together a movie DB with an XHTML/CSS interface:

Title | Rating | Director | Comments | Genre

Add Title
Delete Title
Update Title

PHP/MySQL as the middleware and storage

FLEX/XML for displaying the data:
View Title

However, it seems that the entire thing could/should be done
with
FLEX, any thoughts on this?

You don't need Flex to do that. Flash is fine.

I'm currently developing a video player, trimmer, &
mixer, that pull
data (xml) from Perl/MySQL servers. So far, Flash 8 has
served me very well.

visit www.eyespot.com to see what I'm talking about

Here's mine, admittedly it's not much (coldfusion+mysql) and
I keep
planning to go back and do something interesting with it.,
but have
not as of yet. Heck, it only sorts via DVD ID and name right
now, and
very crudely at that.

glass.com/dvd/

It would be a perfect academic exercise for either Flash/XML
or Flex,
or CFM/mySQL or PHP/mySQL or all of them...

Would be cool if it worked on phones as well?

Sigh, so many ideas, so little time...

Hi,

The reason I'm opting for FLEX, is with the DataGrid, the
user can
rearrange columns, sort and resize them. The DataGrid in
FLASH on
first glance does not allow the shuffling of columns. Is
this
observation in err?

Your example is a "spicy meatball" linking to IMDB
is a grand feature.
