Hello,
I have just installed the latest FOP. Never used FOP before.
I can see
all of my extensions and when I make a manual call to an
extension it shows it
taking place as expected. The problem comes when I attempt
to invoke a
call from the FOP. Dragging ext. 201 to ext. 202 for
example, causes
ext. 201 to ring but ext. 202 remains silent and only ext.
201 is
reported as ringing on the FOP.
Attempting to transfer a call by dragging simply drops the
call.
On the plus side, double clicking an active call icon does
hang up any call as expected.
Any help much appreciated and thankyou.
Jason

Pick up the handset on 201 and see what happens.

Make sure that, when you're transferring a call, that you're
pickup on
the source of the call and not the call it's currently
connected to.
(i.e. call comes in on line 1, to extension 2, pick up line
one and drop
it off on the extension, not extension 2).

In op_buttons.cfg you have to define the extension and
context for each
channel you monitor, that extension and context should be
the ones in
your asterisk dialplan. If they are missing or incorrect,
asterisk will
redirect the call to an invalid place in your dialplan and
drop it.
That is also pointed in the asterisk log files or maybe the
cli if you
enable debug.

Hi guys
Thanks for your assistance. I have transfer working now due
to your comments.
My buttons conf file seems set up fine. What I have found
is that only one extension rings initially, when this is
answered the second extension starts to ring. So im
assuming this is normal behaviour and there was no problem
in the beginning?

Jason,
I had the same misunderstanding of which part of the call I
needed to drag when I wanted to transfer when I started
using FOP. I found that if I set reverse_transfer=1 in the
op_server.cfg file, the transfer process made more sense to
me and our users. Transferring calls in FOP is then more
similar to how it's done in HUDLite, if that's what you're
looking for.
Thanks,
Grant

You are originating a call: so first the originating phone
rings, and
when you pick up it will dial the 2nd leg. It is the normal
behaviour.
Now, when you are talking to someone and perform the drag
and drop, then
it will redirect/transfer the channel. In the default FOP
config, if you
drag PHONE1 icon, it will transfer PHONE1 leg. Like Grant
said, if you
want to transfer the other leg when you drag your icon, then
set
reverse_transfer=1 in op_server.cfg
Best regards
