A engineer friend out of state needs to open a iMac.  I have no M/N yet, 

but I assume it is a older CRT type.

I recommended the apple site for manual and I am sending CRT precautions 

separate cover. What else do i need to tell him? I have no iMacs.

Jon,

He should be grounded to avoid shock that can ruin a machine but he need not be concerned  about the crt unless he is taking in completely apart.  When he opens up the case, he will be looking at the guts of the machine and there is always the potential for static electricity to short out what ever he touches.
