HHHHHmmmmmmmmmm!!!!! Just over 4.7 onto a 4.7 disk? HHHHMMMMM lets put 12.2 oz into a 12 oz can!! Reduce the size so that other files that are written unbeknownst to us can be written. Yes there is a double sided DVD that can be written. But you need the hard ware to write that. Double check and make sure you actually are compressing the DVD.Alast

I tried to dupe a out-of-print DVD, using Disk Utility in OS 10.4.11.
All 4 options of disk images, as well as the original DVD, measured
just over 4.7 GB.
DU refused to burn, since my commercial DVD blanks are all 4.70 GB.
1. Can we get DVD-R blanks of 4.8 GB or more?
2. Where?
3. Why did not the "compressed" disk image come out smaller than the
original?
4. How in bloody Hell do I use DU to do what it is supposed to?
I am copying on a commercial burner, which uses analog input from my DVD
player. DVD-NTSC-DVD conversion probably impacts image quality, but it
works.
I would really prefer digital copies while I wait for reissues.
And I have very little interest in comments on the whacko <

undecipherable copyright regulations, since this 1 fair use copy, and it
came from offshore under a deposed government of a no longer existing
