TONIGHT!
Adobe InDesign User Group Meeting - Orlando Chapter
Tuesday, Apr 25, 2006, 6:30 PM
Downtown Media Arts Center (DMAC)
39 S. Magnolia Ave.
Orlando, FL 32801
United States
Tuesday, April 25th at 6:30 pm the Orlando Chapter of the
Adobe InDesign User Group will feature Lesa Snider King, the
founder of the free creative tutorial web site,
GraphicReporter.com, and chief evangelist for
iStockphoto.com. Lesa is on a mission to teach the world to
create better graphics. She writes for the National
Association of Photoshop Professionals, Planetphotoshop.com,
Macworld Magazine, and Layers Magazine. Lesa is also New
York Times technology columnist David Pogue’s personal
assistant, and the production editor/graphics goddess of his
Missing Manual series. You can catch her Graphics Tip of the
Week live each Wednesday night on YourMacLife.com.
Lesa's site is loaded with Adobe CS2 Tutorials and Quick
Tips. Wait a minute, I know you're all going to quickly go
to her website at www.graphicreporter.com and that's great,
but quick register to see her, LIVE, in person. Go to
www.InDesignOrlando.com and register to be one of the lucky
ones to hear her in person.
If you've been to any of our past meetings you know just
how exciting and high profile our presenters are. Last month
we featured a game show version of InDesignSurvivor: Return
to Butterfly Island Our "survivor" who
accumulated the most points was rewarded with a copy of the
Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium software package.
While it’s all about graphics, many bases are covered in a
wide ranging, freeform interchange among members. It’s
fun, informative, casual and FREE ($5.00 suggested
donation). Your donation helps support DMAC and the user
group costs. There’s food and drinks. Our sponsors supply
great raffles prizes of high-end software, merchandise and
books. Not to mention exceptional information exchange &
networking among professionals and amateurs alike.
Networking after in the Gallery / Natura Coffee & Tea
• DMAC is open until Midnight.
Reserve your spot at one of the most productive and
beneficial special interest groups to come along in a long
time! Sign up now; space is limited. Our presentations are
informative and focused. Adobe Creative Suite Applications
work on both Macintosh and Window platforms, therefore our
user group will be non-specific for platform. At the end of
our meeting, attendees may continue conversations and
exchange ideas in the DMAC Coffee Bar and Gallery areas.
DMAC remains open until midnight, plenty of time to network
and share ideas. Dive into the ‘job pool,’ an informal
area set aside for post-meeting network opportunities:
employment, part-time, project oriented, freelance or
otherwise. What a great way to make excellent connections!
Artists and designers, interested professionals or amateurs,
everyone is invited to this exciting new user group. Printed
CS Program and related product information will be
available. Bring your laptop. DMAC has wired ports and
wireless broadband in the Coffee Shop and wireless broadband
in the Screening Room. Seating is limited to 60 persons.
There will be answers to questions and you’re guaranteed
to discover new methods and means to accomplish new things
with your chosen toolset.
